Opis

F. Viktor KOSAK
* 1887 Poland / Warsaw
+ 1968 USA
*
A painter, graphic, illustrator
publicist and pedagogue.
*
Wealthy family status enable Viktor Kosakow
to get very good primary and higher level education.
Vienna Akademy of Fine Arts
at Schillerplatz ...with interiors decorated by
Master Anselm Feuerbach,
became a second home for the young art adept.
Very demanding, sublimed in art understanding,
Viennese environment quickly appreciated
the workshop and conceptual skills of Viktor Kosak
Artistic projects induced to delivering numerous praises
at..” Polish – Austrian painter ”.

1938 was a crucial year...
Artist left Vienna and his studio,
for shortly he visits his family Warsaw
ang he goes on a journey through Europe.
The outbrake of World War II probably accelerated
F.V. Kosak's trip to North America.
On the basis of available sources... / though exceptionally scant /
we know that a large number of the artist's works has lost
or was destroyed during the war.
Only few paintings - dating on the 1920's
testify to the artist's talent and his presence.
Less than few artist's works enriched the offer
of European auction houses over the past 30 years.
P.S.
With a view to the widely published information from the F.V Kosak's biography...
supposedly the artist did not survive the storm of war in 1939-1945
we publish the photo image of the offer:
Leighton Galleries, Bergen County, Washington Township , NY United States
