Polish artist, painter, portraitist, illustrator, graphic, landscape painter, architect.
He studied architecture at the Technical University of Lviv and painting at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts (1902-1906).
The student of Joseph Mehoffer and Leon Wyczółkowski. He was also aducated at the Académie Julian in Paris.
He was mainly interested in the folk themes, especially the colorful folklore of Podhale and Huculszczyzna.
Early work of Władysław Jarocki depicted hucul rites (Hucul Funeral 1905).
Since 1911 he was inspired by the theme of inhabitants and landscapes of the Podhale.
In numerous portraits of highlanders and mountaineers artist emphasized the beauty of the regional costumes, among others „Return from the Golgota – Good Friday 1913”.
He was one of the most prominent painters who included the Tatry in their paintings. He used oil, pastels and watercolors. He dealt with graphics, stage sets or satirical drawings.
Władysław Jarocki settled permanently in Cracow, but till the end of his life he was attached to Tatry.
In 1920 he married the daughter of Jan Kasprowicz – Anna. He composed a lot of portraits of the poet who loves Tatry (Jarocki also designed his sarcophagus).
 
Since 1907 he was a participant in the exposure of the Warsaw Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts.
He participated in all national and international exhibitions of Polish Artists Society „Art” (since 1909). He also belonged to the group of the vienna secession.
In 1915-1916 he served in the Austria-Hungary army by creating reportage drawings from the battlefield.
He taught drawing at the Technical University of Lviv and the State Industrial School (1920).
The year later he has appointed as professor at the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts. In later years he served as dean at the department of painting and sculpture, then he held the position of vice-rector. In 1937 he was appointed as professor of painting.
In 1940-1943 he guided the department of graphics in Städtische Handwerker und Kunstgewerbeschule in Cracow. After the war he retired.
Jarocki was a great promoter of polish art abroad, among others at the XII Biennal in Venice in 1902 or exhibitions at the Carnegie Institute in the USA.
As a member of the Society for the propagation of Polish Art Abroad he organized a lot of international presentation of polish art.
He served as a chairman in the Society of Fine Arts Friends in Cracow. In addition, he was a member of the Commision of Experts for the State Art Collections.
Paintings of the artist were presented at many exhibitions in Kiev, Rome, Venice, also these individual in Lviv, Warsaw, Poznań, Hague, Cracow, Zakopane.  
Co-founder and later chief editor of „Fine Arts”. He co-edited the album - „Stanisław Wyspiański. Paintings” with Ignacy Pieńkowski.
The most of the artist's paintings are located in the villa „Harenda” - today's gallery of paintings by Władysław Jarocki.
